Failed my CDL Gen Knowledge test on Saturday, slightly confident but still agonizing on the retry today, got to drive an International AmTran RE (T444E, same as the 7.3 Powerstroke) just to do backing exercises and it was kind of easy.
But the worst experience is having to do pre-trip inspections. Forget one of those steps = automatic disqualification.

Maryjuana bus!
In truth, they're not too bad to handle. I mean, sure, you have to remember where the back of the bus is or risk running into someone's car and having to deal with a potentially angry owner.

What about the kids on said bus?

It all depends on how they were raised.

No I rode the bus as a kid(k-6 and 9-mid 11), it doesn't matter where you live. Brats are brats/assholes.

We had REs as our main buses for a long time. They were purchased in 1996, 3 years before I started kindergarten. By 9th grade (2009) they were showing their age and were retired from main duty. They kept a couple of the best ones around as spares, but even those were rusting significantly in the stair wells. They moved to IC CE series buses after that.
Good luck with your retry.

I might be doing what you're doing pretty soon.

They don't let you use a checklist? Maybe work out a mnemonic device to help you remember the steps. It's like remembering the color spectrum as "Roy G Biv" or the Great Lakes as "HOMES." You can get pretty involved with them. I once worked out a sentence to remember the geologic periods of the earth. That was thirty years ago, and I still remember it. Good luck! My brother drove a bus for a number of years. Couldn't tell you which one, though. But he certainly could.
